For Reference I have owned these for under a week, so another review will come after I have put some range time on them. some background I have used a pvs-14 in the military and now I own a pair of these, as it should be obvious these do not compete with analogs they will get beat in any situation minus you cannot burn out these tubes as they have none, that being said you get what you pay for 1800$ for a very capable training system, the best way I can explain it for what it can truly see is go sit in a basement or a very dark room and let your eyes adjust for 15 or so mins, those areas that you can "see" with your eyes but you can't make out any detail that's about what the nvg can see to and they will still be a little grainy but you will be able to tell what stuff generally is i.e. a person a table a chair a small box etc.. obviously with ir light added it looks like daytime through the nods. my thoughts are these are a very good tool / trainer for people new to night vision, or the guy who wants to go airsofting or even possibly coyote hunting at night. the latency I cannot even tell to be honest is even there. if you're on the fence for these, no they are not good if you're in the trenches of Ukraine but if you're looking to step into night vision or even possibly light duty hunting / training for home defense knock yourself out with these they are a great grab for the price
